The influence of culture and art & the importance of promotion

What do you think culture & arts are?

We tend to accept and think that culture and arts are simply something to enjoy and be creative.

But think about it this way, what are science and technology?

Due to the development of science and technology, we have improved productivity, expanded living areas, made life more convenient, and alleviated time and space constraints.

In addition, for the purpose of improving the quality of our lives and pursuing human beings, we are accelerating the radical development of science and technology.

Do you know "Techne"?

(1) An ancient philosophical term meaning skill, proficiency, or art.

(2) Overall practical and productive activities that combine usefulness and efficiency with the shared etymology of art and technique.

(3) English 'art' is a translation of the Latin 'ars', and 'ars' is a translation of the Greek 'techne'.

(4) Art, as a form of activity, belongs to the realm of technology, and its origins are in ancient Greece.

Plato's book Gorgias lists a wide range of fields that fall under the umbrella of technology, such as medicine, equestrianism, hunting, searching, farming, calculation, geometry, political speech, prophecy, music, painting, sculpture, architecture, shipbuilding, carpentry, weaving, and cooking. Plato also distinguishes between various types of techne.

Plato defines technology as a combination of an element that enhances the object to which it is applied and an ergon that enables it to achieve its goal.

For instance, the goal of medicine is to improve health, and doctors possess the skills to administer medicines and treat the body while also having medical knowledge to diagnose the patient's condition.

In ancient philosophy, techne is the term used to classify both technology and art.

The Renaissance period witnessed the emergence of an integrated world of art, science, and technology, where artists were also scientists, and vice versa. Leonardo da Vinci is a notable example.

=> Art and science were closely related as technology, and science provided methods and means for works of art.

The relationship between art, science, and technology is intricate. Science provides methods and means for works of art, and technology facilitates their creation.

Understanding the importance of art and culture involves emotional, comprehensive, and professional explanations from art practitioners, but it is also essential to recognize the relationship between art and technology.

If we apply Plato's definition of technology to art, we can say that art is the combination of an element that enhances the object to which it is applied and an ergon that enables it to achieve its goal.

(*Culture is more comprehensive, but the ultimate goal of art is to create a well-bing culture)

The ultimate goal of art is to create a culture that fosters sustainability & well-being.

Artists understand this goal and possess the skills to create works that can move their audience in a healthy direction, promoting the richness of their lives.

Therefore, when artists create their works, they have both artistic skills and a deep understanding of their audience's needs, allowing them to produce works that are both beautiful and emotionally impactful.

Why cultural & art promotion are important?

The convergence of art and science maximizes creativity and provides the dynamism needed to survive in an unpredictable future. To create a sustainable synergistic effect through this convergence, we need the interest and support of a large audience.

Promoting culture and art is crucial to connect artists and audiences and facilitating mutual understanding. Ultimately, it helps artists and audiences lead sustainable lives through cultural arts.

To achieve this,

first, art should be integrated into everyday life rather than treated as a product of artists and scientists.

Second, it's essential to publicize in the form of a sustainable cultural campaign, not a short-lived event.

Thirdly, the attitude of the public relations manager is crucial. They need to understand how to present culture and art in a way that positively influences the lives of the audience. This requires matching their intentions and goals for the performance with what the audience wants and understands.

From what point of view will we understand culture and arts and make them able to exert a positive influence on the lives of our audience? What message will you convey?

In order to make culture and arts have a positive impact on the lives of our audience, it's crucial to understand their perspective and convey a message that resonates with them. It's evident in the current era that culture and arts hold immense importance not only for a nation but also in terms of global diplomacy.

They can improve awareness of a country and be shared and enjoyed worldwide.

Therefore, it's necessary to reconsider the mindset and goals of publicists responsible for delivering such messages.

How many different cultures are there around you?

What is Cultural diversity? As human beings, cultural diversity is an integral part of our identity. It encompasses the vast array of differences that exist among us, from our languages and clothing to the traditions we hold dear. These differences make us unique, and we should celebrate and embrace them. According to UNESCO, culture is not just about art and literature - it is about the very essence of who we are as individuals and as members of society.  It encompasses our values, beliefs, and ways of life, and it is something that transcends all boundaries of class, gender, age, and occupation.  At the heart of cultural diversity is the idea of difference - the recognition that we are all unique, and that our differences are what make us special. But unfortunately, these differences can also be a source of conflict and division.  It is up to us to recognize the value of diversity, celebrate it, and use it as a means of bringing us closer together as human beings...

It’s the result of clarity and discipline. 2. MMC’s Tips to Stay Consistent Across All Touchpoints Here are a few of our go-to rules for consistency at MMC: Use a Brand Voice Guide: Are you friendly and conversational? Or formal a...
